What Two-Factor Authentication Means on cepat
Two-factor authentication requires two separate pieces of evidence to confirm your identity. On cepat, the first factor is your password—something you know. The second factor is a code generated or delivered in real time—something you have (your phone). Once you enter both, the login succeeds.
Without 2FA, anyone with your password can access your account. With 2FA enabled, they would need both your password and access to your phone. This dramatically raises the barrier against unauthorized login attempts, phishing attacks, and credential-stuffing exploits.
Two Authentication Methods on cepat
We support two 2FA delivery channels:
- SMS (Short Message Service). A six-digit code is sent to the mobile number registered on your account. You receive it within seconds and enter it at the login prompt. SMS 2FA requires a valid phone number and active mobile service; it works on any phone type.
- Authenticator app. You download a third-party authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy) and link it to your cepat account using a QR code. The app generates a fresh six-digit code every 30 seconds. You do not need internet or mobile service; codes work offline. If you lose or replace your phone, you will need backup codes to regain access.
How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication on cepat
Enabling 2FA on cepat takes five steps:
- Log into your account. Navigate to Account Settings or Security Settings (the exact label varies by device and app version).
- Select "Two-Factor Authentication". Look for the 2FA toggle or link. The page will display your current 2FA status (usually "Disabled").
- Choose your method. Select SMS or Authenticator App. If SMS, confirm your phone number. If Authenticator App, your screen will display a QR code.
- Verify the setup. For SMS, enter the code you receive. For Authenticator App, scan the QR code with your app and enter the generated code on cepat's screen.
- Save backup codes. cepat will display a set of one-time backup codes. Write these down or store them securely. If you lose your phone or forget your authenticator-app password, backup codes let you regain access.
Two-factor authentication is optional. If you choose to enable it, your withdrawal requests and account changes still process normally—the 2FA step occurs only at login, not during transactions.
Disabling Two-Factor Authentication
If you decide to turn off 2FA, you can do so at any time from Account Settings. You will be asked to enter your password and the current 2FA code (SMS or app) to confirm the action. Once disabled, future logins require only your password.
Two-Factor Authentication and Deposits on cepat
2FA does not change your deposit workflow. When you access the Deposit section and choose QRIS, e-wallet, mobile banking, local payment, online payment, e-wallet, or a bank transfer (mobile banking, local payment, online payment, e-wallet), you will log in to your account first—which triggers 2FA if you have enabled it. Once you are authenticated, the deposit form loads, and you select your payment method and amount as usual.
The deposit settlement process is separate from 2FA. mobile banking and e-wallet deposits settle immediately or near-instantly after you authorize the payment in your bank or wallet app. Bank transfers follow your institution's standard processing time, typically same-day for domestic transfers within Indonesia.
Two-Factor Authentication and Withdrawals
Similarly, 2FA does not impede withdrawals. You log in (2FA validates your identity), navigate to the Withdraw section, and select your destination payment method and amount. After you submit a withdrawal request, our system processes it according to the standard timeline for that method.
We may ask you to confirm your identity again during withdrawal verification—especially for your first withdrawal or large amounts. This step is independent of 2FA; it uses document verification (ID and address proof) and happens during account setup, not every withdrawal.
Best Practices for Two-Factor Authentication on cepat
2FA Strengths
- Prevents unauthorized login even if password is compromised
- Minimal added friction—codes arrive in seconds
- Authenticator app works offline; SMS requires mobile service
2FA Considerations
- Lost phone or forgotten app password locks you out temporarily
- SMS codes can fail if mobile signal is poor
- Backup codes must be stored securely and not shared
Two-factor authentication is a simple, proven way to protect accounts in a world of password reuse and phishing attempts. On cepat, it is optional—but we recommend enabling it if you follow Liga 1, Piala Indonesia, Piala AFF, Champions League betting, or hold significant account balances.
Key Practices
- Store backup codes in a secure location—not on your phone, not in a shared cloud folder, not in plain text email.
- If using authenticator app, test the setup before deleting your old phone. Confirm codes are generating and sync is correct.
- Change your cepat password periodically and ensure it is unique—not reused from other services like bank accounts, email, or social media.
- If you suspect your password has been compromised (e.g., a service you used was breached), change your cepat password immediately. Your 2FA will continue to protect your account during the change process.
Two-Factor Authentication Across Indonesia
Two-factor authentication on cepat works identically across Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, and all other regions where our services are available. SMS 2FA may experience delays in areas with poor mobile signal; authenticator-app 2FA has no dependency on connectivity and works offline.
During holiday periods—Idul Fitri, Idul Adha, and Imlek—SMS delivery times may be longer due to telecom network load. If you rely on SMS 2FA during these windows, consider switching to authenticator-app 2FA beforehand, or keep backup codes accessible.
Our customer-support team can help you regain access if you lose your 2FA method. They verify your identity through email confirmation or document submission, then assist with account recovery. This process is not instantaneous; we recommend keeping backup codes stored offline.
